I used to give crickets to my magpie, but i froze it. After shaking the frozen crickets, the legs automatically come off. I also drip some vitamins onto the crickets and feed to the magpie. I sometimes put the crickets into the cup or feed it with tweezers. I do also feed the crickets whole without plucking the legs away.

Hi nismo33,

The best live food is grasshooper - type "for mang" -
it provides fitness & stamina.

Hi Nismo 33,
Agreed as said by Frankie, " foh Mang " or "fire grasshopper". difficult to find in KL and this little guy is not cheap at all.
Crickets is ok for an adult bird, but during molting try others food because too much of comercial crickets will eventually make magpie loose weight ( big in size but light in weight ). Guppy own opinion, if your magpie is not well then you can feed it. A well balance diet is good enough inclusive all the above and dry pallets ( dark green colour ) is recommended. Try to obtain dry pallets which are meant for small chicken/ chicks, because the nutrients are there and have a balance temperature when it was consume by your magpie.
