incubating CAG eggs from day 1

The African grey parrot is a medium-sized, predominantly grey, black-billed parrot. Their average weight is 400 grams (0.88 lb), with an average length of 33 centimetres (13 in) and an average wingspan of 46–52 cm. The Congo subspecies is a lighter grey, with darker grey over the head and both wings, while the head and body feathers have a slight white edge to them. The tail feathers are red. The Timneh subspecies is a darker gray and has a dark maroon colored tail as well as having a portion of their beak being light pink in color.

incubating CAG eggs from day 1

Postby ngcheehui » Mon Sep 15, 2014 12:09 pm

Hi All,
I am really excited and surprised that new breeding season has started.
It seems that it's around time for CAG to breed. My CAG have laid 3 and 1 eggs respectively. I am going to try incubating the eggs from week 1. Has anyone tried this and willing to share their experience?

Hi Tanin,
sorry for the late reply. for some reason i didn't get a notification to my e-mail account.
anyway, the first chick hatched 2 days ago. I didn't want to risk it as i thought nobody has done it before and since my pairs have been very reliable so i just let them incubate. Have you done it before?
thanks

No problem bro...

For large parrot, I attempt few times but no luck... not sure if it is because of the incubation process or fertility issue. For cockatiels, I did it before... unfortunately not able to raised the chick because of my schedule which not able to commit to their feeding requirement.
Best Regards,
Tanin
