Japanese zosterops?

I observe that many people like to keep this small bird for their beautiful song. Zosterops (Zosterops Palpebrosa) is normally called 'Mata Puteh" (white eye) in this region.

Yes, its a hassle to keep birds in Msia. Unless u r ready & armed with knowledge to defend yourself, be prepared to be bullied.

What happen to hobbyists without license? Are they fined or simply have their birds confiscated, or both? What is the usual fines?

Instead of hobbyists, Perhilitan should go for the big time animal smugglers & poachers.

I can't understand the logic of freezing licenses, like for Shama. Keeping it open will enable better regulation and control and not wasting resources like going after non-licensed hobbyists.

C'est la vie my friend. Pursuant to the Act they have powers to confiscate and fine plus throw in a prison term too. Normally they will confiscate and fine for first time offenders. As was said before in another thread its easier to catch us small fry whereas the big boys have enough cloud-without their money many would go broke
