Videos and Pictures of Mata Puteh

I observe that many people like to keep this small bird for their beautiful song. Zosterops (Zosterops Palpebrosa) is normally called 'Mata Puteh" (white eye) in this region.

Videos and Pictures of Mata Puteh

It has been a while since I am actively posting in the Mata Puteh section. Would like to share a short video of my new Mata Puteh singing his mid-tone. Randomly selected from the ladung by a friend. Quite funny little fella. Very tame considering just out from the ladung. However afflicted with a coarse voice which subsequently improved by using SCATT.

Hi dance4rain,
Nice bird. Looks like u hit a jackpot to get a bird like that from the ladung. I also notice that its still continue singing it midtone even when u aproach to film it so calm and stable. I kind of envy u :D .

8 months later:

Quite hardworking fella, but voice not melodious. No rhythm, no tempo  (in my humble opinion)
Have yet to name this fella. Maybe just call him Kepong, after the place where I bought him from

Sorry Geekymunky, didn't visit this place for months now. Just saw your post.
I do not have problem with this fella. But I do use a small water bottle to be on the safe side.

This is Thor. Named after the Greek god of thunder
He came to me uninvited, meaning I wasn't actually looking to increase my stock of Puteh. But after hearing stories about him, I was tempted. See, among hundreds of Putehs that passed by this trader's hand, 2 caught his attention and he dumped them with another 8 Putehs that he thinks got potential into a "ladung" (big cage, usually 4 feet by 2 feet). 1 broke its leg and left 1 which he thought he better let me keep.
Well, only time will tell whether this trader knows his stuff or maybe whether I know my stuff

Oh! forgot to mention the Puteh's voice in the background is my old bird which I kept for over 2 years already. Its a long time considering I have only started keeping birds for 3 years :D
I am only keeping 3 Putehs at the moment, including Thor & Kepong.

Most of my Mata Puteh videos are taken at night (usually way past midnight), that is the time I actually kicked back, watch TV and enjoy them.
